Default Big Block vs Small Block Suspension

I made a comment to some friends ? that are into cars and I made a comment something like "I sure wish I had the Big Block in there" and was told you don't have the suspension---WHAT  I thought the only difference was in the front springs. Could anyone shed some fact--keep in mind I can't stand the taste of crow :D

springs in front were different to handle weight, so were cars with air, ps, etc. there were different springs for different loads. the rear spring was the same regardless of engine. Only difference in rear spring was if you had hd/f-41/gymkana or whatever you want to call the optional suspension, called f-41 in 70. It consisted of 550 lb springs in front and 7 leaf rear spring. By the way didn't matter if you had 350 or 454, f-41 was the same except for the shocks were beefier than standard also. So people say no f-41 in 70, but there are documented cars with it.

Oh, forgot, f-41 had rear sway bar, big blocks did also, 9/16 and 15/16 in front, stock was 7/8 front no rear bar for small blocks. I have had both type cars so can verify the forementioned info. :D

They must drive mustangs!
My wife had a 4 cly rustang when I met her and I wanted to make it a 5.0. turns out you had to rebuild 1/2 of the front end to do it...different crossmember and everything :U

The same question was asked in tech forum in Vette magazine and the tech. guy said forget abought installing a BB in a SMB vette the changes were many and very expensive if done the proper way. He said cheaper to buy a BB and fix up.

My Car originally was a BB car but has a SB in it now. I'm putting a BB in it in a few weeks. Any way I can tell SB springs from BB springs without removing them?
