Rear of car seems to be bouncing alot... thought it would be time to change shocks. On inspection passenger rear shock has oil on it.... so I will replace those.. didn't know till now that someone before me put on a TRW spring. could this be weak which would cause the bouncing after driving on these terrible New England roads
Running a fiberglass spring without a quality gas or adjustable shock will cause handling issues. Lots of debate here on the best shocks. A search will keep you busy for hours.

No, great spring... lousy shocks...
you HAVE to put a good shock on that spring or it will bounce like a buggy!!!
Bilstin Sports, best for the $$$
If you go and put something cheep on it like KYB's or???? you will be unhappy, they can NOT control the bounce, the composite spring is very fast a and very reactive, and you need a good shock to control it... The composite spring will never ever ware out...
Fiberglass monoleaf springs don't get "weak". They will work for a very long time until they fatigue and fracture or until they get a chip/ding which starts a crack and then fractures. If the spring is intact, it will work as intended.

Excellent description of what mine does (or did before the spring began coming apart). I have never heard it explained like this, about the bounce and the shocks controlling it. Ordering a new spring soon. Thanks!
