Default dash repair help.

On my 78 the only damage on the orginal dash (silver) is where the drivers door closes against the dash at the top edge. my question is do they make any kind of repair kit to fix small (about one inch) cracks?
thanks Tom:

I've had some luck with plastic welding. You can light a piece of plastic on fire and drip it over the crack till it's filled, then sand it down.

I've also had some luck with a glue called Plastic Weld from Autozone.

Similar procedure.... Just get some "spot" body putty and carefully fill the cracks. Wait till it starts to harden up, then clean off excess and use a toothpick to sculpt some 'grain' back into the surface (if you even need it in that area). Then recolor the surface with some SEM "Color Coat" vinyl 'dye' [about $15/pint from a body shop paint supplier and mixed to your interior color code]. If you want to spray it and/or have other pieces to recolor, buy a $5 Preval bottle sprayer, too. It works great for re-dyeing interior parts.

P.S. Use some lacquer thinner on a clean rag to get rid of any oils/dirt from the area you will be patching/recoloring, first.
