What type of restraints are you using ?
I am looking to put a 5pt harness in.....more for looks and cornering than
drag racing.....what do you suggest?
brand?
dual or y-type?
buckle or cam-lock?
2", 3" width belts?

note- I got a pair of Corbeau Farza seats coming in....so they are ideal to use with these seats....
can the belts be used as a lap belt (without the shoulders and submarine)
for lets say grocery runs? or quick jump in and out ?

thanks guys...

Ylose-The Vetteworks C3 Harness bar prototype is finished; I'm starting to build a production model this weekend. I'll have pics up on my web page next week. This design will allow installation into a C3 without modifications to the interior. The bar is made from 1-1/4" Chrome molly OD with.125 wall thickness and 1-1/4" width x 1/4" thickness cold rolled flat bar. More info will be on my web page next week.

Dan,
will this bar fit the older sharks?
The kind without the upper shoulder belt loop?

Vettedan,
where will the mounting point be? I see you have a '77, think it'll fit in a '78?

I just use a lap belt currently. I don't think that is going to fly at the track this year when I'm doing 12s. Anyone know for sure?

427V8- So far the oldest the harness bar will fit will is a 1974. I need access to a '68-'73 to see how the bar will need to be modified.

Scott78- The bar uses the original seat belt anchor points. The bar should fit a '78 if the shoulder anchor is exposed. I not sure what years the C3 shoulder anchors were covered up by the interior panel.

My lap belts are getting pretty nasty too so I've decided to upgrade. My car must have originally had the shoulder straps also cause the bolt that it attaches to is still sticking through the carpet. You can see this on the interior pics on my website.
Anywho, for a little more than the camero belts, I've decided to get the three point double release system from Corbeau http://corbeau.com/brochure/belts.html for only $80 a piece.
I'll let you know how the installation goes; I should be picking them up and putting them in this weekend.
Cheers :flag

I have RHS cam lock 3 inch they are cheaper than Simpson and the quality is the same. Summit Racing is 15 minutes from my house on a slow drive. So I often order different models and pay for them. Then compare and just return the looser.

VetteDan - I just wanted to inform you. Just incase you didn't know. That the cross bar has to be fairly high. Because The safety instructions included with lap belts give a mounting point height in relationship to the seat holes.

Here's mine

gkull-The bar is set to a height so the shoulder strap is at the correct angle per NHRA regulations and Simpson recommendations. This harness bar set up is designed for people who like recreational autocrossing and do not want to modify the Corvette interior. I use Simpson 3" belts. You have a real nice set up.

ylose-This type of seat will work the best with Vetteworks harness bar. I'm looking for a race seat as well. Will the Corbeau Farza seat allow a 6’ ft guy with a helmet on clear the t-top? If so I think I'm buying one. Let me know!
