How does this thing come out? I removed the clamps, but it doesn't seem to go anywhere. Is there a clamp above the transmission/heat shield? I tried pulling it, but got nothing.

Sounds like you're working on the POS cable. It's held in place by clamps at different points along the underside of the trans tunnel, and behind the tunnel insulation. I've never removed one with the trans in place, I can't imagine it being any fun to get to

Got it out, finally. I just wasn't pulling hard enough. Now I'm just waiting for the new cables to arrive, along with some other parts. It's going to be a PITA trying to get the new cable in.

Uh...with the tranny in place, it would have been easier to use the old cable as a fische to pull it into place while you removed the old one. Good luck.

Why didn't I think of that. Oh well, I guess I'll have to figure something out.
