Default Holley Carb - Fitment

I am looking at getting a 670 cfm Holley Street Avenger carb for my 76 vette. What I want to make sure of is that if will fit my stock intake first, then will it fit the edelbrock eps performer vortec intake, as I plan on vortec heads and a cam later on. Also, since I am going to do heads and cam later, should I go with the 770 cfm model, or is 670 enough? Summit says that intake wont clear the hood, but I have done some research and have heard otherwise, is this true? Thanks

I have the 770 Avenger on an RPM Air Gap intake with 1/4" spacer and an open element air filter (Moroso 14x3"). It won't fit under the stock hood on my '79. I have an aftermarket hood which is 2" taller. Lots of room. Nice setup. And the 670 is probably enough. I have a 383 with Trick Flow heads and I still don't think I really need the 770.

670. Won't fit stock intake, you could get a used Performer.
Both the Edelbrock EPS & Performer Vortec will fit under the 76-79 med. rise hood w/ Holley, drop base & 3" filter.
