Default Oil Pressure
How many pounds of oil pressure should a 427/390 pull?
We just restarted mine...

with a stock pump i would say a low of 25 hot and 50 -60 high

A stock GM oil pump might only produce 10 psi or so at idle...and, that's all it really needs. The 'average' pump might have 15 psi at idle, 35-40 at cruising speeds and around 50 at highway speeds. The 'rough' rule-of-thumb is 10 psi for every 1000 rpm.
