Default fuel line routing help - socketless hose

I'm trying to run 2 lines (-6 fuel and return) in the '69 using Aeroquip socketless hose. I'd like to keep the original hard lines in place just in case I screw up my fuel injection project and go back to a carb. I'm having a hard time cramming the line up between the body and frame by the rear tire. It also seems pretty tight over the transmission crossmember. Are there any tricks to making it fit or am I stuck if I leave in the stock lines? I know I for sure need a larger return so I'm going to have to run something through there.

I ran a new line up the drivers side of the car and used the original line for a return line. I ran an aluminum fuel line from the back to the front and have about 2 feet of braided line from the hard line to the injector rail. Another 2 feet from the return rail to the original hard line and back to the tank. My return runs into the tank through the stock line. I did remove the sock and turned the line away from my fuel pickup.
