I've got a problem with the wiper door on my 69 thats driving me nuts. Maybe you guys can help. Everything appears to be hooked up correctly. The vacuum canister is new and works fine. Here's the deal... With the vacuum lines hooked up correctly the door will open as it should and the wipers work fine but when the switch is turned off the door will move only slightly to close. By slightly I mean maybe 1/8 to 1/4 inch. To get the door to close I can reverse the vacuum lines at the canister and it closes correctly and stays closed. Again, for it to open correctly I have to reverse the lines into the correct positions. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance....Randall
Hi SH,
Perhaps you have a vacuum relay that's only directing vacuum to the green hose ( or not enough vacuum to the red hose) and thus when you move the green hose it can perform both functions.
When you turn the wiper off you need to test to determine how much vacuum is in the red hose. Do you have a vacuum gauge or pump like a Mity-Vac?

Alan
