The best thing to do is write to Lars and convince him (in 500 words or less) why he want's to take on your carb as a "special case".

Do it yourself. If its running OK but needs to be freshended up there's not much to it.
The more challenging carbs are the ones that aren't original or have been incorrectly worked on in the past.

Just rebuilt or refinished as well? I had mine 78 Pace Car L82 M21 carb rebuilt by a group out of Orlando and they did an excellent job and I thought reasonably priced. I was going to use Lars but he doesn't do refinishing.

Custom Rebuilt Carbs in NJ did the one on my 71 LS5 and they did a great job.
Normally I do all of my own carb work, but this one had a stripped fuel inlet that needed to be rethreaded so I sent it out and was very pleased with the result.

I think he has actually brought up the site to this place in NJ already, so i'll look into that one and the one down in FL. Thanks for the suggestions! and if you have anymore keep 'em coming!
