Default Question about strut rods

I have been running the adjustable strut rods with poly bushings for several years now with no problems. now im in the process of doing some cleaning and detail under the car and was noticing how much resistance the poly bushings have to rotation. with the center bracket removed the strut rods will hold themselves in what ever position you put them (they probably have done that since day one).

My question is, would i get any benefit from purchasing the racing strut rods with the spherical rod ends? I am thinking that it might free up the suspension movement and reduce any binding the poly bushings create.

Unless you have to use a sledge hammer to move them up and down, no. The slight resistance is inconsequential in all regards.

Poly is really better suited to use where things are only meant to move about a single axis, such as anti-roll bar and front control arm bushings, but due to C2/C3 rear suspension geometry the camber struts and TA's move in 3D.

I've seen more than a couple of complaints about poly bushings (which tend to bind anyway when not adequately lubricated) introducing what is termed "stiction" into the suspension when used in camber struts and of a few crumbling after long term use at that location.

The heim-jointed "racing" struts are the best thing for eliminating compliance from the camber control struts, and depending on how serious you are about this you might should follow thru and get a set with lock plates which eliminate the eccentric adjusters, which IME don't stay put when you start pressing very hard. Are heims necessary for any type of spirited driving? That depends on your definition of spirited.

Some have complained about vibrations or road noise transmission, but then not everyone's backsides are calibrated for the same purposes.
