Default Birdcage Rust Opinion Needed (picture)

Critique this body mount with the passenger side kick panel removed and tell me if you think the birdcage is fine.

You really won't know until the mount cushion is removed.

The number 4 mounts on both sides of my frame looked fine until the rubber cushion was removed. Once the rubber cushion was off, you could see the mount was badly rusted.

Well, its not fine, but then again its 30 yrs old. The bottom of the pocket looks pretty rusted, but that might not be a big deal. When I took mine apart the rubber bushing opened a 2" hole in the pocket, that sucked. If the rocker channel is in decent shape, I would clean the pocket up (sand blast and phospho) and weld in a patch. If the rocker channel it toast there are a couple of options, all of them are a LOT of work.

Im not worried about the mounts, im looking at the cage above. Mounts are easy.

More specifically, a no hit body 39 year old 454/4spd matching #, optioned to the max car, with a tank sticker.

Hi jbb,
There's a LOT of cage beyond that picture. What does the windshield frame look like and have you looked up under the passegers side dash pad to see what's going on?
Regards,
Alan
