Can you change out a rod or rod bearing from underneath through the oil pan opening. thanks

A bearing, yes. A rod, no. You can not withdrawl the piston out of the bottom of the engine. But there's some texture in the bearing question since sucess depends upon the condition of the crank journal. Putting a new bearing on a crank that needs a regrind is not a consideration you should even ponder.
