Hi,
I am installing a used VENTED gas cap on my 1971 project car.
How do I check to make certain vent is operating properly?
What do I use for replacing caps missing gasket?
Cap is sand blasted, and will prime and paint top, what about tank side of cap, just let it rust? If I paint it, what should I use that will hold up to constant gas exposure?
Any info is appreciated!
The stock '71 cap is non-vented. But that is for use with the charcoal cannister system for fuel vapor retention. If that system is removed, you need a vented cap. If the fuel vapor recovery system is still functional, you need a non-vented cap.
