Ok, was doing a burnout for my friend with his camera the other day and i smoked them up, but i left no rubber marks, my tread is getting low and i am planning on replacing the wheels and tires soon...I like the torque thrust II's and i want to know what size rims and what tires should i get...i want something that will give me good preformance and be able to leave some nice tracks for showing off :) any ideas? also i would like something bigger than 255 in the rear if possible
Radial T/A's are popular because they have been around forever and they keep on improving the design. They aren't expensive, offer good grip, and work very well in the rain. They look good on a Corvette because they have a somewhat agressive looking tread. You can get them in just about any damn size, even for 16" wheels. How much cash do you have to blow on a wheel/tire setup?
C3Vettesrock, use a BFG Drag Radial sized P275/60R-15 which sells for about $135.00 each. They offer some properties of a race slick while maintaining a radial design.
As far as tread marks are concerned.... that tire compound.
The 'softer' the compound the blacker the tread marks on the ground.
...it also helps if the asphalt is really smooth and well-worn.
Rough asphalt will tear-up tires & spool shavings everywhere w/o leaving dark tread marks.....
The 'softest' tread you can buy are D.O.T. Hoosiers - and if you burnout too much you'll use them up in a hurry ! ...another trick is to soak your tires with household ammonia before the camera shoot - it'll soften the outer layer of tread and provide a great burnout !!! :yesnod:
