Default 700R4 at work !

Had the digi-cam in the car today and found a straight section of I-75. Here you see the results of 4th gear, convertor locked. The car has a 3.55 rear gear in it.

I think you need to change your tranny speedo gear that's about what I do with a 4.11 at 3000 rpm in lockup fourth. If you have 27 inch tires your more like 95 mph@3000

1000 7 12 19 27
1500 10 18 29 41
2000 13 24 38 54
2500 16 29 48 68
3000 19 35 57 81
3500 22 41 67 95
4000 25 47 76 108
4500 28 53 86 122
5000 31 58 95 135
5500 34 64 104 149
6000 38 70 114 162
6500 41 76 123 176
7000 44 82 133 189
7500 47 87 142 203

I would love to see that. Mine is ~3100rpm at 60mph.

The motor has a high volume oil pump in it. Once you are off idle it pretty much pins the gauge. I do run mobil 1 in the summer and it will drop down a little if the car is run hard on a really hot day, but for the most part that is were it sits.

I did a few speed test runs and I thought the speedo was right on. Will have to check it again, I did the math and gkull is right. with 245/60/15 tires + 3.55 rear gear + .70 tranny gear @ 3000 rpm I should be doing 95 mph.

The white stuff it just light, the digi cam opened the lens up to shoot the pic inside the car and it looks super bright outside.

It sure is easy to feel good about an overdirve transmission... My 3.08 setup turns 2300 at 80-mph! Ahhhhh. A question for the General... WHY DID YOU WAIT TILL '82 TO INSTALL OD's IN CORVETTES!!!!!?

I gotta get me a smoke-em-up pic like that sig pic! Nice job dman
