I will post this here and in the my Brandshatch Green Barn Find posting to see if anyone knows of a tach and speedo refresh service for my 1971 guages. I am interested in either having these repainted or replaced with newly repainted faces if that works better. I'd like them cleaned inside and tested to make sure they sweep without sticking as well. If you know of one please sound off here, PM me or e-mail me please.
Thank you.
David Howard
Speedo has light surface rust on face surface, rust on face screws, surface rust on housing and the sweep arm sticks when in use.
Tach has light surface rust on the face, surface rust on the housing and sweep is good on the tach.

At one point in my LS swap I had some good help from forum member gldnkngt. He does gauges and can be another source of info when you are doing the research for you. Here is a link to his webpage.

If there is rust on the faceplate, then the gauge certainly has seen moisture inside it and will need to be thoroughly refurbished. Google "Speedo Tach Repair" and several sources will come up. I cannot vouch for any of them, but I would suggest that you select one which others [who have had that work done] can recommend.

Thank you. Will check this one out.
