I live in Greer SC which is in the middle of Spartanburg & Greenville. I need to find a trust worthy and experienced Corvette mechanic. I know they should be like any other car (So to speak) but from my personal experience it's not like any other chevy I've ever owned. There are only two places in this area that I know of and one guy is bout to retire and the other I've heard a lot of negative feed back. So if anyone on here knows someone who is really knowledgeable Please help.
Try hooking up with some CF members in your area. They might be able to do what you want or recommend a trustworthy shop. You might try a new thread in General with a thread title including your city. Good Luck
If you have some mechanical skills, see if the 'potential' retiree will advise you (for pay at a rate you can agree on) on the details of how to do the work yourself. That may include buying some of his specialized tools or renting them if he is willing. If you end up learning how to work on your car, it will pay big dividends in the future.
If you are NOT mechanically inclined, talk to that same mechanic and ask if he can take on the work. If not, ask his advice on who he would recommend as an alternative source.
