I do beleive to will make the 500 rwhp
427ci small block is 400ci block with 4.125" bore and 4 inch stroke crank, don't know how GM got wind of what I was building but they did the same thing with the Corvette ZO6 LS7 motor

How would this do vs a stock C6 Z06 in a straight line?

It is a very simple formula Weight X Power

The C-6 Z06 has 505 crank shaft hp and simular weight Compared to Motorheads 478 RWHP.

I have got to drive a variety of Z06's over the years out at the 4.2 mile road racing track. Compared to the plain Jane Vette they are fun. But they are a luxury sports car not a race car.

Awesome motor I was thinking of building a 383, but this 427 has got me thinking. Is there a certain preference on year 400 block? Have not looked but are they hard to find compared to 350's?

I want to add a question to that question?
It is better to start with a GM 400 block - or get a Dart or World block that's made to go overbore and stroked ?

Good 400 blocks are becoming tougher to find. If yo udo find one most are getting good $$$ for them. I would start out with a fresh aftermarket block and go from there. They are stronger and clearanced for stroker cranks. In the long run you will most likely be $$$ ahead.

Just got back from a trip out east

I would not use a an OEM 400 block at this power level. I still have bigger headers to put on and I am going to take the Car Chemistry baffles out of the exhaust pipes to quiet the motor down.

I should hit 500 RWHP by just doing that but what ever the numbers are I used a Motown ( World ) 400ci small block with billet steel splayed 4 bolt caps, all five caps are 4 bolt and the middle three are splayed.

My friends shop ( not the one in the video ) told me last week I could unbolt the back of my exhaust and run open headers on his chassis dyno, now that is going to be a good video

Like I have said I / you / whoever can make more power but the real trick with a small block is make as much power possible and be as easy as your daily driver to run around town.

The test I like you use, can your mother or grandmother drive it through a take out window just like any other ordinary street car ?

Hey Wayne good trip out east?

My car is getting close. You are right about the last paragraph. This is why I went with an aftermarket FAST system that is sequential.

Loved the video! If you come up north, stop in!

Yeah had fun the "party" icon was a little misleading though, weather wasn't too nice

I would like to see the motor, that's going to be quite a stump puller.

Put it on the chassis dyno too. It scares the crap out of you the first time with all those expensive parts spinning around at 7000 RPM but if it is built right it won't blow up, if built wrong you are gonna have it crap out on you anyway.

Make sure you tell me when you do it
