Recently got hold on a new Tremec TKO600, but not an specific model for a Corvette.
The shifter sits on the middle of the rear part of the box. not like I have seen in Corvette Plug/Play kits (on the left side).
Can I purchase a kit to relocate the shifter to the left side?.

Yes and No. The re-located Shifter that was made for Vettes was done by Keisler and You will need to send the Tailshaft to them for the modification. Others will probably do it as well. Or, you can do Like I did and use a Tremec Shifter that has a lot of Lefthand offset built in. You might try Hurst or Mcleod to find these. My car is an 80 and the 78-82 Console has a bit more room for the Shifter before it comes threw the Leather boot than the older C3's. So it might not work for you anyway.
I did a Tremec swap back in 2001 before the kits had the fancy offset shifter. Basically, I enlarged the hole in the tunnel and had a welder fabricate an offset so the handle was in the right place in the console. Has worked fine for 9 years now.

Here is my transmission next to my old Super T-10. It is a Tremec 3550 which was the earlier version that became the TKO. Note the shifter.
Thanks Steve.
In today's economy, it appears that there are some straight forward ways to upgrade to a Tremec with a little imagination and fabrication and save some $s in the process.

The kits are great if you don't want to cut your tunnel. Mine is just fiberglass to it can be easily repaired.
I used a bracket for a 700R4 transmission and it worked great. I got it from BowTie Overdrives but they no longer sell it (just crossmembers now). Then I just had to have my driveshaft shortened. Later on, I had the crossmember converted from welded-in to factory bolt-in to facilitate removals. With the welded-in unit, it was easier to put the tranny and engine in as a unit.
