Default electriclal problems

I am having problems with the wiring on the 79 I recently bought. A light stays on under the driver dash with the ing. cut off. The lights only work on high beam ect. I have a Helm's manual from my 78. Would the wiring be close? I don't want to buy another $100.00 dollar manual unless i have to. There are other problems in the wiring in the car, and I am certainly not good at this sort of thing. I thought I had checked the car out better than I did. Any advise would be most welcome. Thanks in advance. :conehead

The 78 manual will be fine to work with. The wiring on a 78 and 79 is just about identical.

As for no low beam headlights, check the bulbs before anything else. Seen a lot of time where both bulbs where burned out at the same time.

Just had one in my shop with same problem, interior lights stay on. Just above the glove box is a timing module to delay interior lamps from shutting off after doors are closed for about 20 seconds. This module fails, your interior lamps stay on. Its still available from GM.
