Make sure your compression ratio is not too high (< 7.5 to 1)
I guess we're all in the range for pinging. But I use 93 Octane so I'm not exactly worried. However, I saw an engine out of a S/C Bullit Mustang where the guy used 87 octane. DOH!!!! He's getting a new engine.
