I am replacing my turn signal cams and attached wiring harness on my 79 C3. I think I may have gone a little too deep into the column to try to get the attached wiring harness to come out on the old piece. The headlight dimmer switch has a push rod that activates the switch. This push rod no longer seems to line up with the switch down deeper in the column. Any suggestions???
I did have a small piece of spring steel about 1 1/4" long and about 3/16" wide fall out of somewhere?? This piece looks like it clips onto another part. I would attach a picture, but apparently I can't. Any suggestions on this? Anywhere I can get a full exploded view of this part of the steering column?
This is a generic blowup of a 1979 GM tilt column. The "guts" of the column head are identical to your T&T except for the telescoping parts in the upper steering shaft #55. The dimmer pivot rod, dimmer switch, tilt mechanism, lock cylinder and rack, etc are identical to yours. http://jimshea.corvettefaq.com/wp-co...mmerblowup.doc
