Default Quadra Jet Color?

Has anyone recolored their Quadra Jet themselves to the original gold color? Can it be done with acid you can buy at a hardware or auto parts store?

Eastwood supplies the refurb paint for the Q-Jet, and I think some of the aftermarket parts suppliers might have it as well. Probably at the Napa stores and carparts places too.

I did find that, but wanted to color the aluminum properly with acid etch...at least thats how I think they do it. I heard the paint can come off after a while if fuel or solvent gets on it.

The eastwood product, is supposed to be gas proof. If you prep the carb parts correctly, you should have no problem.
