Okay. This is the left spindle and arm assembly. If you look where the nut and pin are see the GAP over them? Is that normal? With the tire on you could move the wheel up and down with a significant amount of movement. I'm taking it to get looked at just thought I'd throw this out here. Thanks.
u should not be able to move the wheel up and town @ all. was the half shaft attached to the differential when u felt this? if so i could be the stub axle moving inside the posi unit. otherwise take the spindle out and check the bearings, it may just be loose and needs to be re tightened
Are you talking about the gap between the washer under the nut and the flange ? If so most likely is normal because thats not a perfect fit in there and the washer isnt always centered.
( BUT if the gap around the washer changes as you wobble the wheel you have a problem with the spline either in the flange or the spindle.Hope this is not the movement you were feeling.)
If you are wobbling your wheel with your hands at 12 oclock and 6 you have to be very careful and watch exactly where and what is moving. If the spindle is set up at the high tolerance you can get some wobble but be sure and check to see your not pushing too hard and the half shaft is moving the yoke in and out of the diff.
Sometimes it takes a second set of eyes to determine what exactly is moving.
Usually if the bearing is bad it takes little effort to move the tire while holding it at 6 and 12. If the side yoke is worn you usually need it push in on the top of the tire with greater force to get it to move in and out.
