Ok tonight me and my friends are going to do a few films of our cars doing burnouts...right now my carbs acting funny so IDK how well ill do, whats the tips for the best burnouts with my setup?
should i drop it to 1st or leave it in drive, should i punch it straight and hold it all the way down, when should i let off the brakes, how long to hold it until i risk really messing something up etc.
also someone mentioned rubbing ammonia on my tires prior to burning out to soften the rubber?
I don't know about the amonia. umm...I'd just hold the brakes enough to spin the rear tires. If it doesn't bog the motor down, i'd go full throttle and just let it fly. You can let off the brakes when-ever. I just wouldn't press on the brakes harder once there spinning, that much heat my cause problems on the rear tires. I'd just keep it into 1st.
I just hope all works well, my carb settings are all f'ed to hell atm and its running like crap, oh well itll be fun, my friend has a new silverado with the regency conversion, looks sweet...if we figure out how to get the video on the net ill have movies for u guys
I just stop, press brake and start the gas down slowly, as soon as the tires break which is about 2000 rpms, I release the brake and punch it. Boil-ola.
Doing burnouts without a linelock is asking for trouble, probably transmission trouble. They only cost around $60-$100. Much cheaper than a transmission.
Well went and filmed tonight, this time (last time i had smoke but didnt lay any rubber down) i laid rubber down but no smoke, wtf no luck for me :( I plan on buying a linelock soon, i just f'ed the transmission 2 weeks ago and got it back about 3 days ago from being rebuilt...as soon as i get a vid captuer card ill have vids up for u guys
Ok someone explain in detail how a linelock works, im really thinking of getting one and do u need to be a good mechanic to install it or is it fairly easy
