shift kit

79 355 400hp turbo 350 355 gears. Anyone running a B&M shift kit? Should I go street strip or the more tame B&M performance option. Let me hear some stories!

I started out with the strip spring, then tried the street spring. The street is still firm, but not as hard as strip. Has better street manners now. The Transgo video and directions are pretty good. The directions left out a step but showed it in a diagram. So I had to fill in some of the informational gaps, but not too bad an install for my first time.

Only heard very bad things about the B&M kits. Transgo Reprogramming Kit is what you want.

I'm not sure where you buy from, but at Summit the B&M kit is quite a bit cheaper.
B&M kit $30.25
Transgo $43.95

I just noticed that the B&M Transpak is probably what you were referring to. That one is more than the Transgo kit.

I just went ahead and installed a TCI manual/automatic valve body on the Th350 on my '78 Z28, along with a vac. mod., and love it

B & M transpac, here no problems, $76. from a corvette vendor. Shifts extremely firm in street/ strip mode. This kit has a Warning about downshifting. If you manually pull it into 1 gear, ITS GOING TO FIRST GEAR!!!!! I would recommend HD u-joints with this kit,too.
