Default C3 clock **** question

What size clock **** is used on a '72? I ordered a new one and got 2 in the pkg with one set screw. One **** is longer than the other. Man, we sure didn't worry about such things when these vettes were new!

Hi v4e,
The reset **** on my 71 is a tiny bit over 3/8" long. It is the original.

Alan

I knew that I could count on you Alan. But I expected one of those prize winning photos! Thanks.

Hi v4e,
You DON"T want to know!
When I took the screw out to get the **** off, I dropped it... it bounced off the console plate and UNDER/ BESIDE the driver's seat! I was sure the seat would have to come out but stuck my hand under the seat and found the screw FIRST try.
Regards,
Alan

I used the clock **** that is the length you gave me. The other one they sent to me is a little longer-@ 1/2". Maybe that's for a later model? I also dropped my screw and it bounced on the shift console, but landed by the engine specs plate. So I've got a spare screw for you if you ever need it. Thanks for your efforts Alan.

It's interesting, but the service replacement clock **** kit from GM has always come with two different *****.

One **** is for Borg Clocks... the other for Westinghouse clocks. Only one of the ***** will fit the clock and the other one is a discard.

Only Borg Clocks were used in Corvettes, but I guess this was a way for GM to service all clocks with one part number...
