Default POA valve removal

72 BB.

Any suggestions on something that might effectively loosen the (steel) nut from the (aluminum) fittings between the original POA valve and the evaporator tubes.

I have soaked (repeatedly) with Blaster but to no avail. I think some light butane heating may be next. I do realize Blaster is flammable. Their is very little work space and even less room to get any leverage.

All suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

According to the Chevy Dealership tech manual it's a very straight forward removal and install but I suspect 36 years of electroltsis has locked things down tightly

I hate to tell you that, but I only was able to remove mine when I removed the whole evaporator unit from the car, and even when I did that, I used a big wrench!

kap182, i am workiing on the samething now. my car has the whole line missing. i see the threaded section on the poa valve but mine has a barb fitting on the back of the compressior housing like a fuel line would have. is this like yours? thanks, sorry if i highjacked your thread. if you are replacing the poa valve you may try cutting it off and then work on the nut. my car has a tilt frontend so i do not know how much room you have. heat will most likely ruin the poa valve but if it is bad it won't matter. good luck

Yes yours and mine sounsd the same. Ya know I'm not even sure I'd have room to cut it out. I'll have to look at the option. I've Blasted, heated re-blasted and just bought a set of off set wrenches to gain a different angle. What a PITA but I will prevail

Thanks for the response.

I turned the POA valve, from the condenser. As condenser nut wouldn't turn.
