Default Question on emissions.

Does the car have to pass for what it originally came with from the factory to that state? I ask because I have a 1980 California Corvette with the computer controlled QJet that was only on the California cars for that year. In Colorado they had the L48's with the non-comp controlled QJet's. Would I be safe if I were to replace my fuel system with one that was designed for a non-California car?

Also. Is the lock-up converter in the TH-350C controlled by vacuum or is it by the ECM?

Thanks,
Matt

The car has to pass fed standard. the ecm controls the loc up convertor. Once you go down the road of disabling computer controled components in the car this will turn the mil light on or check engine light that is one othe things a tech is going to check for then your busted. They have aftermarket carbs that run with the on board ecms just another road that is available :smash: :chevy :seeya
