Default Door Ajar Light

...is staying on in my 76. Started as a bit of a flicker but is now on all the time. Any suggestions? (Yes, the doors are shut)

Thanks

does light go out when you manually push the switch(s)?

If they do , adjust or replace the switches. ( the ones toward the rear of door)

The "DOOR AJAR" switches are at the bottom of the rear door jambs. Turn ignition key to "ON" position with driver [or passenger] door open; light should be ON. Depress the jamb switch with your thumb and watch as you are doing so. If light does not go out, you need to repair the jamb switch. (Don't forget to disconnect the battery before working on it.) If the light does go out...but below where the door will place it...back the threaded nut out until it works properly. If the switch is too loose where it works properly, put a couple wraps of teflon tape on the nut before you reinstall it or put some non-hardening thread "locker" on it.
