Default turn signal indicator lamp replacement

I need to replace a turn signal indicator lamp on my 78. Does it involve taking the instrument cluster out or could it be possible to go under the dash.
thanks

If you are a midget, a contortionist or have a 'savant' four-year old grandson who can follow detailed instructions you can do it from under the dash. For the rest of us, it's time to remove the driver's seat from the car and "dig in". Actually, I think you can reach many of those sockets from below. But, be very careful in pulling the sockets out from the housing; many times they separate and the blub and/or the metal contact ring dislodge and can fall INTO the housing. Not a good thing. And remember to pull the battery cable before you start that project.

Change all of the bulbs you can possibly reach once you are in there. Once is enough!

Decide what is less expensive, an hour of your time to pull the gauge cluster or what your Chiropractor charges for a visit.

The cluster comes out the front, hardest part is unhooking the speedo cable.

Disconnect battery. Take out front seat. Pull front console. Replace all the bulbs. NAPA sells them in bulk.
Good luck
