He is a VERY good person..
Hey there Mr Magic, I just purchased a 79 C3, a C4 engine and 4L60E Trans. I would like to compare notes on what you did and also have some questions on the SMOG requirements you went through. Anyway, any chance I could get a copy of the 52 page DOC? gabe5195@gmail.com
I've been sourcing all the smog parts and want to compare notes on how you went about on your end. Really appreciate if you could send me a copy - TY
All, i see I missed a lot of post/request for my blog. Sorry about that but in an effort not miss the next request, here is the link so that you can get the document anytime you want..

I'm working on trying to update the file in the link above. In the interim, you can email me for the latest copy powellfmly@aol.com. Don't forget to put the thread title in the subject line.
GEN II LT1 / LT4
JMO, red-headed stepchild ... neither ignition, heads, water pump or block will interchange w/ anything else. Retro top-distributor & carb intakes are few & far between & stupid expensive. GM fled that GEN II reverse-flow cooling sbc design and (afaik) hasn't returned to it in at least last + 20 years. Before starting an all out GEN II project, suggest skip it ... Sell off your pile and go w/ GEN I or GEN III ... much greater performance per dollar ROI. Were they an improvement over their immediate forerunner? Perhaps in some aspect ... but their GEN Ie cousin L31, in most respects, is arguably an even better motor. YMMV
I just emailed it to you. The owner of the website 'california stingrays' allowed the web site to lapse so emailing it to interested parties is the best i can do for now.

Thank you very much. I'm sure I'll be posting more on other threads in months to come. But this should prove invaluable for me.
I have successfully installed a LT1 in an 81 corvette and it is smog legal in California. I'm currently trying to figure out how to post the 52 page document that I wrote on my lessons learned.
All done and test driven. Everything I hoped it would be.
I can't say how happy I am with this swap.
Hey sorry to bring this back up again, I see you've sent this out countless times over the years but that link won't open for me, but I'd love to have the document as I'm also doing an LT1 swap into an 81 Vette. My email is trumbold10@gmail.com
