Q. re Q-Jet Accelerator Pump Spring
This accelerator pump did not come with instructions. How far compressed should the spring on the shaft be before securing the retaining clip? As much as possible? Is there a distance measurement from the end of the shaft to the clip? There is no marking on the shaft.

The clip slips onto the shaft at the small diameter and spring holds it centered in place. Pumps have different installed heights depending where 'notch' is. mds...

Only install 1 way. Sounds as if you thought you could install the clip anyplace on the shaft,not so it slips on the small diameter and slips up and bottoms on larger diameter.
