Default Lars is THE MAN!!!

I just finished tuning the carb on my '78 Z28(670 Street Avenger), per Lars' paper, and love the way it performs now. The throttle response improved A LOT!! Thank you very much Lars. You are THE MAN!!

I couldn't agree more. I'm currently having difficulties with a rough idle. Since Lars rebuilt and tuned my carb, I know that it's working properly and my problem is elsewhere.

Nice to see him back and posting again.

I just bumped the primary jets up three sizes(68) and the secondaries up 8 sizes(76). What a difference that made. It managed to put one of these every time I drive it.

I didn't go up any higher because my Z28 isn't highly modified. Once I install a cam I'll go ahead and jet it once again.

OK. Now I have done mods to my stock 76 350 (see reddog76 posts) but kept my stock recently done before the mods Quadrajet. Do I need to re-jet it and is there a quick reference page to do so. I did not go very readical (vortec heads, SUM-1103 cam , roller rockers,2106 intake, etc...)Should be an upgrade to get about 330 HP. Doesn't have that "throw you back in the seat" feeling. Still runs tons better but, just not quite there. Timing per CF recommendations.
ALso,
Does anyone know where I can get a 15 degree can for my dist.? Napa (where someone suggested in the pastbn )in Ohio looks at me like I am crazy!!

Run your Q-jet the way it is.

As for your can, I'd use VC1862 AR31 from NAPA.

Is that a 20 degree can? If so, that seems to be leaving some change on the table. I have to drop it 5 to max out at 52 all in, everything re-connected with the present 20 degree can. It is in a newer petronix flame thrower dist.

It has 16 degrees crankshaft degrees at 6-8" Hg. If you haven't done so, read up on Lars' timing and vacuum advance papers found in the stickies in BarryK's homepage.

You can also install a stop on your existing "can" so that it doesn't move the full amount and gets you the degrees you want.
