I want to pick up a new(used) driver side door for my 1976, as the gap for the window in mine is abnormally tight (narrow). This causes the glass to not align correctly with the window sill gaskets. I rebuilt both electric window mechanisms, greased etc, and could never get the driver side to go correctly (maxed out the adjustment). So as I am approaching a frame off/ls1 swap, I want to just get everything right the first time. Have a few questsions:
1. What year vette doors fit a 76, i believe its 69-82, but just want to be sure.
2. Anyone selling the door without accesories in the SE? (Will take a door with accesories if you are willing to sell at the same price as a empty door.)
3. Anyone know of a reputable corvette salvage yard/ parts dealer in FL where I can get a door from without being ripped off on price?

The door hardware locations changed in '78 to be sure. Not sure if '77 are same as '76. Check out some of the corvette catalogs for parts applications (door panel interchangeability).
Corvette Shop & Supplies, Dale Mabry Hwy, Tampa. Last time I lived there was 5 years ago and they were heavily transitioning to C4/C5 inventory. But, they may have a part you need.

Guy called me back with a ridiculous price, "a few hundred bucks" for an empty 76 door shell. Thats ridiculous, even for a corvette, another place quoted me a hundered bucks maybe 150 when they got a good one in. I am glad I don't need this immediately or I would be getting bent over.
I wish I had my camera when I went to see the 300 cars neatly spaced and under trees at Corvette Generation in Dade City, FL late last year. I couldn't help but think of all the stories that could be told if only the cars could talk. It is like the cars in barns pics only on a large scale. Walley has some complete cars that he don't part out that are worth saving. The best of was a 1968 convertible non-matching #'s. It would need a complete rebuild and I think he wanted $8500.
