okay here i go..1978 vet L48 edelbrock intake and a year old 600 edelbrock carb w/ electric choke full tune up plugs, wires, ect. the car runs great once it gets going zero hesitation if i floor it to pass or if i take off normal from a light.. BUT if at a light from a dead stop if I floor it.. it like bogs down..its not even a jerking motion.. just like a bog down. if i let off the gas and go again it will go good..any ideas please.. and has always THANK YOU!!!!!
If you're getting a good squirt of gas when you hit the accelerator, I'd lean towards vacuum advance or advance in general.
Check that primary accelerator pump cam and lever don't have any clearance at idle. You must have two squirts at the smallest movement of the carb butterflies.
If it's OK, maybe your pump cam is just a bit small for your application. You have two or sometimes three holes that you can try in the same cam. You can also try a bigger squirter size, like 0.035".
This kind of thing is easy to adjust with a wideband AFR Meter...
If you have a secondary vacuum actuated carburetor, maybe the spring is too weak and the secondary opens too early/easily, causing a momentary lean condition.
In any case, check Lars' papers for adjustments. But as always, most carb problems are ignition timing related...

I found adjusting my accelerator pump adjustment just above the accel. pump arm about .020 . It takes 2 minutes and you can put it back if it doesn't work
