I haven't been online looking at corvette parts lately because I have been away at college, but as of 3 years ago the 73-74 center grill wasn't being reproduced. Has that changed?
Get some chrome paint and coat the leading edges. Very few people would ever notice the difference.
I touched up a few "dings" in the chrome on my 73 grills using the chrome paint method as suggested by 7T1vette and you cannot tell the difference unless you are 1" away from them.

I don't think the center grill is being reproduced; just the sides. I've seen original ctr grills go for $500 on eBay.
I have a '74 and I really want the center grill. I have seen them to go for really high dollars on Ebay, seems ridiculous. I refuse to pay that much for the part. I have also seen some go in the parts section of this forum and are much more reasonable... you just have to be lucky and be the first person that sees it for sale.
Why won't vendors make them, seems like it would be a popular item?

I am not familiar with chrome paint, is it brush on or spray can, model paint. Where can I find it. I apologize to shamby for stealing his thread.
