Default 1974 Side Pipe installation

I just put a set of side pipes, with fiberglass covers, on my 74 vette. Just wondering if anyone else has done this and what it looks like, they look good, but I can see the pipe below the bottom of the cover, is this normal? or should threy tuck completely into the fiberglass cover?
thanx...

Hi T,
You can post pictures!
Upload them to a site like PhotoBucket, then copy the picture's IMG CODE into the body or under the message of your post. You'll see the picture when your post appears.
It's easy!!!
Regards,
Alan

it's normal for half the muffler to be exposed

I have a 74 with the same setup, my pipes hang lower than that (although I'm trying to figure out how to tuck them up higher).

Hi T,
With my 'over the counter' pipes and covers there is about 1 5/8" clearance between the bottom of the frame rail and the top of head pipe headed to the muffler. Is yours more than that?
If I lay with my head on the ground I can see about 3/8" to 1/2" of the muffler below the cover.
Remember, originally, the bottom lip of the fender behind the front wheel was cut to allow the pipe to clear the fender. Was that done for your installation?
Regards,
Alan
