Yep...$60 for that is not a bad deal. I'm not sure where it's made, but it looks a little better than the China crap I had. If you look at that picture, the end opposite the crank handle where the worm shaft goes thru....thats what broke on mine. peeled it apart like a ripe banana That's also what actually keeps the engine level, so when that went, the entire carrier slid all the way forward to the crank and left me dangling in more ways than one.

Some days and some jobs are just hell! For no particular reason the gods are against you and its a bloody struggle to do a simple job. You just have to breath deep, calm down and plod on with it. At the end of the day the job was done and most importantly no damage.

Too many bad memories about this thing too. I install the motor only now from the top and the tranny from underneath . Congrats on your victory,i had a BBC camaro and pulled the motor in and out like putting on pants after awhile.

I don't know why you guys hesitate pulling the core support and getting it out of the way. Then it's as easy as 1-2-3.....

#1 Come in from the side

#2 Rotate the assembly and line it up

#3 Guide it down in, using the leveler (no floor jack/dolly required)

....and it's now BEER:30

And by the way, assembling the radiator, core support, fan shroud and all the seals is a heck of a lot easier on the bench, and you can do a much better job. The whole assembly goes back in the car in less than 5 minutes.

I don't drink either, my friends name is Jim Beam

The chinese are experts at making thing look like the real deal and are often rotten materials on the inside. If your gonna hang a big block over the fender of your Corvette get a good one.

That said I never do the engine and tranny together and that's a small block combo, a big block a big auto tranny NFW Jose

Just one quick question about removing the core support. I know the support rod that supports center of the front nose of the car is bolted to the core support. When you remove that support rod to take the core support out is there any risk of the front nose sagging too much. Im getting close to having to do this too.

If you still have the bumper on the car and all the brackets are still attached, you will not have a problem. I placed a block of wood under the front clip just to be safe and told everybody not to lean on the fenders. I heard of somebody cracking the front clip at the firewall, but the bumper and frame attachments were off the car.
