I was wrong....
I stated in a post a while back that I was "quite sure" that my July 19th 1968 car had the latter style front wheel spindles / bearings.
I was wrong. I have the 1968 front bearing setup. (sigh)

Uh-Oh and now with that stiff rear spring you have even more weight on the front bearings , all the more reason to keep your foot in the accelerator. Officer I was worried about my small diameter front wheel bearings..........

NP that I see.
I dought that any 68 had the bigger bearings. my 68 was built in the last few days and has the small bearing. #S4228227

Hi,
My understanding is that because some people were losing their bearing in 1968 GM started the development of today's navigation systems.
