Lately the bulb on the drivers side stays on and will not go off until the battery is disconnected. It is not affected by closing the door.
Any help with this problem?
Hi E,
I'm surprised that it's just one side. I'd think ither door switch would turn on both lights.
Is it possible that the switch in the door jamb needs to but adjusted out a bit so the door pushes the plunger in the switch far enough in to shut the lights off?
You can test for this by pushing the plunger in with your finger to see if that shuts the light off.

Alan
Hi S,
On 70-72 cars (not sure of 68-69) there is a bracket for the socket just to the left of the odometer re-set **** under the steering column. The light shines on your left leg.

Hi Alan,
Are you sure it's a separate bracket in the '70-'72?
I deleted the picture I had but on my '68 the bracket holds the re-set **** along with the courtesy lamp and the speed-warning **** if so equipped.
I've got a spare around here somewhere but I can't find it right now!
Hi DZ,
You're right, it's not a seperate bracket as I implied. I was trying to tell S69 where to look for it.
It's a devil of a job to get the bracket in and out because the hood release handle is right there too.

Alan
