mechanical tach
Used the search function and found that my tach cable is busted. Stupid question as all the car's I've had before this have had an electric tach. Is it okay to drive it with cable screwed in but the broken part removed? IE, the gears or whatever in the distributor won't fall out or get messed up?

And with the cable torn up your probably also going to have to replace the mating cross gear inside the distributor.
Tach Drive Gear
Not a big pain but requires you pull the dist. I bought a new cable in the hopes that it would fix the problem but still havn't got around to installing the cam and bringing that needle back to life...
