Default Tranny Linkage, something slipped, need help

How do you reset the tranny shift levers from scratch if they all got messed up?

Isn't there a hole somewhere you line things up with? THX

4 speed ? There is a special tool you have to make that slides in the shifter and then you adjust the rods to slip fit. I'll get you the tool diagram.

Hi,
I made a tool from the drawing Roger posted out of a white plastic paint scraper from my local home supply store. It worked well for someone who isn't too well equipped to work with metal.
Regards,
Alan

That should work.

I was slamming my shifter and all of a sudden I could barely get the tranny into gears. Kinda like the clutch wouldnt disengage all the way. Pretty certain I slipped the linkage somewhere on the tranny.

Going to have to crawl back from work and hopefully make it home. Thanks.

If it all of a sudden stopped working, it sounds like the mounting bolts came loose. The linkage can't just slip.

.
Check the pivot ball on the clutch cross shaft,it might have backed out of the block, that would cause the clutch not to disengage.

Yeah, it wasnt the linkage after all. Like Duke says, there is no way for it to slip. Not sure what's going on. Pivot ball check sounds like good idea.

Going to start new thread on problem.
