so, does anybody know what kind of resistor that is? It's red, it was on the inside of the cover of the wiper motor. It exploded into pink chalk when I touched it. Anybody know?
I thought for sure I had a late model motor I could remove the cover and look at the resistor but I don't. Sorry. Ring Ernie up on the phone and get him to go out in the shop and check one of his.
I 'll keep looking for a circuit breakdown of the motor to see if I can find it.
Describe the resistor path by what is connected to it or what it is connected to.
The resistor you have is for the delay function only, you do not put 12 volts there. It can be replaced as it is a 330 ohm 1/4 watt resistor. You need to test the wiper motor with the 3 terminals to the right of the gear assembly. 12 volts in the center, ground on the top and bottom terminals and ground the case. Should run on low speed. Lets try this first and get the wipers working we can work on the delay after that.
