Trashy Tank update....
Drive the Vette over to the in-laws farm this morning at 9:00am. Runs great, other than the choke not working at all...
Left the car there until 3:00pm when I drive it up to the local gas station and fill it up.
Drive back to the farm, visit for a few minutes, and then head back to the house.
Made it about 300' past the driveway and no fuel....
In the back, directly under the tank, there's an inline cartridge filter just before the Warner electric pump.
Up front there's a Mr Gasket pressure regulator and one of those "glass" fuel filters (so I can see that there's no gas up front).
Got really lucky and broke down in a perfect spot for lying on the ground under the rear of the car.
Clamped the line from the tank to the filter and pulled the filter off. It dumped a decent load of fuel when removed. And then I found that I could blow air through it with no problem.
Put it back on and voila, the car gets a healthy load of fuel up front and hauls butt once again...

Thoughts on why that little cartridge filter would block all traffic, and then work just fine after being removed and aired out?
