Default Electrical gremlins.

Well i connected up the battery today for the first time since the car has come apart. So far the dash lights dont dim, and the high beams wont come on.? I will order a headlight switch, that should fix the dash light issue, but where do i start looking for the high beam brights?

On a plus side, the stereo works and so does the power antena.

That would be the signal light lever on the column. Where is the relay or switch located?

Before replacing the dimmer switch check it. When you operate the dimmer does the blue high beam indicator in the dash come on ?
Its not unusual for both high beams to be burned out.

Same problem with mine when i bought her. We chased the wires to the headlight switch and found when the last owner pluged the switch back in he bent two of the connectors which didnt make contact anymore. straightened them up and everything worked. just check your connections first.

I would, probably just needed worked a few times. 4 way flashers do the same thing if they aren't used occasionally.
If you can get to the plug make sure its on OK,if its loose it can cause the connector to get hot.

Don't know if the switch is still the foot operated one for your year but if it is:
Is the carpet in? I had the same problem with no high beam, turned out the carpet was to tight over the switch, it felt like it switched but it didn't!
