Default Headers installed - OK to leave this as is?
Should this be filtered, blocked off or just left alone?

Other than sucking in hot air, any issues I should be considering?

If you remove the vacuum source the internal flapper stay closed so you won't be sucking in hot air.

You can make it functional again just by putting the adapter pipe on the headers for the hot air tube to mate to.

Just rig the air cleaner so that the airvalve on the inlet pipe is fixed in the "open" position. Then you can cap that tube off or remove it altogether.
