Default BB Edelbrock cam

Hi.

Is anyone else using the Edelbrock 7162 cam? If so, what kind of idle do you have below 1000 RPM? Mine is very lopey. Sounds great but I want to be sure it just isn't badly tuned carbs (2x4).

That is very close to the GM solid lifter L-88 cam. Idle below 1000 will be nasty.

Thanks. I didn;t think it really was as 'wild' as the L-88 cam. I am expecting the power to fall off above 600-6500 RPM not the 7000+ of the L-88.

I am going to try to get the car on a chassis dyno in the next several weeks. I'll see what it does and get a chance to tune the carbs somewhat.

I ran the Comp 294 S in my 427, was a nice cam made good power and had good manors on the street.
