Default New Wheels Arrived Today

Yeeeeeeehah, my new custom wheels came today!

I ordered a set of Boyd Coddington wheels, 17" x 8" x 4" backspacing for the fronts and 17" x 9.5" x 4.75" for the rear. I had the company, SporTruck.com, mount and balance a set of 17" BFG gforce KDW tires (255-45ZR17 for the front, 285-40ZR17 for the rear), and ship the whole set, ready to bolt on.
http://shop.sportruck.com/bcodd/genesis5.htm

Here's a pic of one of the front wheels:

Here's a back wheel. Note that the dish is a little deeper.

Get a gander at these totally trick tires! :D

Now to finish installing my front suspension stuff and other miscellany to see how they're gonna look on the car.

-Noel

NICE! Now those brakes will be cooler. What's the dia of 285/40's? Is that about the max width for your rim?

Looks great! How come you didn't opt for the KD tires?

Beautiful rims!! One day I'm going to convert my 68 to 17 inch wheels. They look so much nicer!

Wow!, they must have been expensive!
Do you have to relocate the mount of your parking brake?
Using offset arms or standard?
Post a pic with the wheels on the vette, can´t wait anymore!

Thanks, all, for your comments!

What's the dia of 285/40's? Is that about the max width for your rim?
GKull, according to the PDF at BFGoodrichTires.com, 26.1" for both front and rear sizes, which is a tad smaller than the stock 27". Should help with front wheel clearance a tiny bit.

Yes, from what I can see in the specs, the larger tire widths want wider rims.

How come you didn't opt for the KD tires?
Stingy74, two reasons: 1. It rains a lot down here in south Florida, and 2. The KDWs were on sale. A pretty good sale; they were $185 each vs. in the high $200s for the KDs. Hey, it gives me something to look forward to improving even more. :)

Im still stuck on fat rubber
WightNite, stuck is good! Slipping and sliding is bad. :)

What are your plans for your CE wheels?
Flynhi, I plan to keep 'em for the day the CE becomes the most valuable car on the planet. :)

Do you have to relocate the mount of your parking brake?
Using offset arms or standard?
MARKUS_P, I'm running offset trailing arms from Van Steel. Yes, the parking brake cable mount is relocated on those units. I have a lot of wrenching to do before I can put the wheels back on; the rest of a VB&P suspension needs to be mounted up and a Steeroids waits in a box to improve my steering.

Those are Beautifull !
And the price doesn't seem too bad either!
( the web site says $895 for the 4, + $25 for 9.5" wide, So $950?? )

Noel, you sound like me. Boxes of parts around the house and no time to complete the projects

Awesome wheels and tires! I can't wait to see how they look on the car!
